The Archives received the name "Geheimes Staatsarchiv" in 1803. The Archives moved to a new building in 1924 in Berlin-Dahlem, which remains their main building today. The Secret State Archives became part of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz) in 1963.
